Onslow County expected to add at least 100 jobs with sale of park land

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – The Onslow County Board of Commissioners reported it will include at minimum 100 new work with the approval of an economic progress proposal to provide park land.

The board says the proposal is that the county will promote about 16 acres in Burton Park to Trask Land Company with the arrangement that the financial investment would give substantial residence tax revenues and offer at least 100 new jobs at higher than the county’s median profits.

WITN is explained to Trask Land Organization will make an estimated $13 million financial investment on the land in buildings and associated things. The county has the possibility to halt the yearly payments if the company’s investment does not generate the positions and taxes.

The proposal for this job was floated previously in April. The board of commissioners permitted the proposal unanimously Monday.

County Legal professional Brett DeSelms states the charge of the land is $928,500 and when totally formulated soon after 4 a long time, the enhancement would produce about $90,000 collected each year in new taxes. There are no taxes now produced from the home.

The board also authorized the obtain of the Metropolis of Jacksonville Hearth Station Variety 4 through Monday’s meeting. The county has been hunting to broaden its emergency functions middle and the purchase of the fireplace station will insert required area.
